The decks alone are fairly quick, but the shops and aquarium below can stretch the visit.
Clear, dry mornings usually give the longest views; weekday mornings are often calmer than weekend afternoons.
Get the Tembo Deck ticket first, then decide on the Galleria once up there; its tickets sell only at the Deck.
Fast lifts carry you to the Tembo Deck, a wide floor with floor-to-ceiling windows and a glass floor panel for looking down. From there, a separate lift rises to the Tembo Galleria, a sloping glass corridor that spirals around the tower even higher. Back on the ground, Skytree Town offers an aquarium, a planetarium and many shops and food courts.
In Sumida, east of the Sumida River; a pleasant walk across the river from Asakusa and Senso-ji.
Step-free accessFAQ says you can reach the observation deck by elevator; wheelchairs can be borrowed on the day (limited number, no advance booking); accessible toilets in several places. There is no direct elevator to the Tembo Galleria; it is reached via the Tembo Deck. The pages do not explicitly describe a fully step-free route.
Buying online is recommended for the lower deck, the Tembo Deck. The ticket for the higher Tembo Galleria needs a Deck ticket and is sold on the day at the Deck machines, as of Oct 2026. The Book box on this page shows partner tickets and current prices.
On a Wednesday the decks are usually open 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, and last entry is 9:00 PM, as of Oct 2026. Special hours are sometimes set for particular days. Sunset and night views are popular, so expect more people on the decks in the evening.
Many visitors allow about 60–90 min. Deciding up on the Deck whether to carry on to the Galleria can add to that. The shops, food courts and aquarium in Skytree Town at the base can stretch the visit further, especially when paired with nearby Asakusa.
Lifts carry visitors to the Tembo Deck, and from there a further ticket leads to the Tembo Galleria, where a sloping glass walkway climbs towards the top. On clear days the view stretches across the Kanto plain. Shops, restaurants and an aquarium fill the complex at the base.
