Sunset slots often sell out first; mornings and weekday afternoons are usually calmer.
Book online: when adult tickets for a slot sell out there, the counter has none either.
The visit begins with a lift ride wrapped in light and sound effects. Step out onto the rooftop deck, walking along the glass edges and the corner viewpoint above Shibuya Crossing. Lie back on the hammock-style net area to watch the sky, then visit the indoor gallery with its full-height windows and changing displays. Large bags usually go in lockers before the rooftop; the official site lists what is allowed.
Directly above Shibuya's main rail hub, a few minutes on foot from Shibuya Crossing and the Hachiko statue.
Step-free accessThe official ticket page's notes say the facility has stairs and escalators, and that staff will guide wheelchair users, buggy users and people with limited mobility to a priority lift; ask the nearest staff member. Some areas are intentionally dark for the displays, especially the stairs. Crutches and canes are allowed. Travel luggage is not allowed on the deck (lockers on the 46th floor per GO TOKYO).
Tickets are for a chosen entry slot and are sold online ahead of time; when a slot sells out online, the counter has none either, as of Oct 2026. The Book box on this page shows partner tickets and current prices.
On a Sunday it is usually open 10:00 AM–10:30 PM, with last entry 9:20 PM, as of Oct 2026. The rooftop can close at short notice in poor weather, so check the official site on the day. Your ticket's time slot sets when you go in.
Many visitors allow about 1.5 h. Time on the open rooftop, plus a look around the indoor gallery on the way down, makes up most of it. The lift ride with light and sound effects and a rest on the hammock-style nets add a few more minutes.
A transition space inside the tower leads up to Sky Stage, an open-air rooftop deck, and down to an indoor gallery corridor. You look straight down on the Shibuya Crossing, and on clear days the view reaches Tokyo Tower and far beyond.
