Two days in Mexico City pair the historic centre with the museums of Chapultepec. One day runs from Chapultepec Park through Alameda Central to the Zócalo and Templo Mayor; the other climbs to Chapultepec Castle, spends the middle of the day in the National Museum of Anthropology and ends in Polanco at the Soumaya Museum. It suits visitors who want history and art in equal measure.

Quick answers to common questions.
The first day links Chapultepec Park with the historic centre: Alameda Central, the Palace of Fine Arts, the Torre Latinoamericana, the Zócalo and Templo Mayor. The second day stays west: the National Museum of History in Chapultepec Castle, the National Museum of Anthropology, Polanco and the Soumaya Museum.
Two days cover the historic centre and the museums of Chapultepec at a steady pace. They leave out Coyoacán, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the south of the city, which the three-day and longer plans add.
Give Saturday to the historic centre and Sunday to Chapultepec, or the other way round. The castle usually takes 90 to 150 minutes and the Anthropology Museum 180 to 300 minutes, so the second day has room for little else beyond Polanco and the Soumaya Museum. As of 1 Nov 2026.
