Arrive late afternoon to see the view by day, at sunset and after dark; weekday mornings usually have shorter tram queues.
The summit is closed, so for open views without a ticket, follow the level loop on Lugard and Harlech roads.
From the tram terminus, head up the Peak Tower for the ticketed Sky Terrace, or look out from the public spots around the tower and the Peak Galleria. Then walk the Peak Circle Walk along Lugard and Harlech roads, a shaded, mostly level path with views over the harbour on one side and the outlying islands on the other. Lion's Pavilion, near the tram, is another lookout.
