The route covers several levels, so plan a visit that is unrushed but not long.
Morning and late afternoon light suit the rooftop, which closes in rain, so a dry day is the one to choose.
The rooftop closes in rain, so if the forecast looks unsettled, add the flexibility option for one date change.
The visit starts in one of the two oval courtyards, looking up at painted walls and open galleries. A lift takes you to the roof, a landscape of stairs and sculpted chimneys with views to the Sagrada Família. Below, the attic's brick arches house an exhibition on Gaudí's ideas. Next comes a furnished period apartment showing middle-class life of the time. The visit ends back at street level.
At the corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer de Provença, a stroll up the avenue from Casa Batlló; metro trains stop close by.
Step-free accessThe operator says the public parts are wheelchair accessible except the rooftop and the mezzanine, which are uneven.
Booking ahead online is recommended but not required, and a single date change is possible only if the flexibility option was added at purchase, as of Oct 2026. See the Book box on this page for partner tickets and current prices.
It opens every day, closing later from spring to autumn than in winter, so the hours box shows this month's times, as of Oct 2026. Next special hours: 25 December 2026: closed. Rain can close the rooftop at any time of day, even within opening hours.
Yes. The visit takes in the courtyards, a period flat and the attic exhibition, then the rooftop of sculpted chimneys. The rooftop closes in rain for safety, as of Oct 2026. The flat shows how a Barcelona family lived a century ago.
In our plans it sits on Day 1, “Sagrada Família & Park Güell”. It stands up the avenue from Casa Batlló, so many visitors pair both Gaudí houses in one outing. Keep it for a dry day, since the rooftop closes in rain, and allow about 60–90 min.
