Weekday openings tend to be quiet; a late afternoon visit can end with sunset over the bay from the terrace.
The broad staircase doubles as seating on the climb to the collection; save the shaded bayside veranda for the end.
Start with the changing exhibitions on the ground floor, then take the stairs that double as seating up to the collection galleries. Works from Latin America, the Caribbean and the African diaspora sit alongside international names. Large windows frame the bay between rooms. Finish outside on the veranda under the hanging plant columns, with benches facing the water and the port.
PAMM is in Museum Park on Biscayne Boulevard, downtown, next to Frost Science; the people-mover stops by the park.
Step-free accessThe museum says all galleries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. Two entrances have no steps: one reached by plaza elevator from the Metromover station and one accessible group entrance beside the main doors. Elevators run from the parking garage to the lobby and inside to upper floors. Free loan wheelchairs at the visitor desk (ID left as deposit). The sculpture garden needs a cart reserved in advance.
Entry is by ticket, with reduced rates for seniors, students and youth and free entry for young children and members, as of Oct 2026. A ticket covers the changing exhibitions and the collection galleries upstairs. The Book box on this page shows partner tickets and current prices.
PAMM shuts each week on Tuesday, Wednesday. On Thursday, until 9:00 PM. On its other open days it is usually open 11:00 AM–6:00 PM, as of Oct 2026. Doors open in the late morning, and a later visit can end on the bayside veranda.
In our plans: Day 4, “PAMM & Frost Science Museum”. PAMM sits in Museum Park downtown, right beside the Frost Museum of Science, so many visitors pair art and science in one day. Being largely indoors, it also suits a hot or rainy afternoon.
PAMM stands in Museum Park on Biscayne Boulevard downtown, as of Oct 2026, facing the bay beside the Frost Museum of Science. The downtown people mover stops close by, and taxis and ride-hail cars drop off at the plaza. The map on this page shows the nearest stop.
Next stop: 2–3 min walk
