3–4 h
This allows for the aquarium, one planetarium show and a few galleries.
Weekday afternoons, after school groups leave, are often quieter; on rainy or very hot days it is a good indoor choice.
Work the aquarium from the open-air top level down to the deep tank's lens view, then fit in a planetarium show.
Start at the top of the aquarium, an open-air level with fish and seabirds, then spiral down to the deep tank, where a large lens looks up at sharks and rays. Next, explore the science halls on flight, light and the human body. Save time for a planetarium show under the dome, and check the day's schedule for live demonstrations.
The museum is in Museum Park on Biscayne Boulevard, downtown, beside PAMM; the people-mover and buses stop by the park.
Step-free accessThe museum says an elevator and a ramp lead to the ticket centre at plaza level, elevators serve all levels in the central atrium and all four aquarium levels, and a ramp links the aquarium mezzanine to the Power of Science exhibition. Free loan manual wheelchairs; wheelchair seating in the planetarium.
Ticket prices vary with the visit date, and young children, members, first responders, active military and veterans enter free, as of Oct 2026. When booking, check which planetarium shows your ticket includes. The Book box on this page shows partner tickets and current prices.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, until 6:00 PM. Earlier in the week it usually keeps 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, as of Oct 2026. The museum opens every day, so it works as a flexible indoor stop, and planetarium shows and live demonstrations follow a daily schedule you can check on arrival.
Many visitors allow about 3–4 h, as of Nov 2026. The aquarium spreads over several levels around a deep central tank, a planetarium show adds to the visit, and the halls on flight, light and the human body fill the rest.
In our plans: Day 4, “PAMM & Frost Science Museum”. Frost Science sits in Museum Park downtown, right next to PAMM, so many visitors combine the aquarium and an art museum in one day. As an indoor stop it also suits a rainy or very hot day.
