A booked slot gives you enough time to wander the garden and step outside on the terrace.
Clear days give the longest views, and weekday mornings are often a little calmer than weekends.
Reserve a slot ahead rather than turning up; on the deck, pick out St Paul's and Tower Bridge across the City.
After the security check, a fast lift rises to the garden floor. Walk up the terraced slopes of ferns, fig trees and Mediterranean plants towards the top level for the widest view through the glass. Step onto the outdoor terrace facing south to spot Tower Bridge, the Shard and the river bending east. Look north and west for St Paul's Cathedral and the towers of the City.
On Fenchurch Street in the City, a short walk from Leadenhall Market and the Tower of London.
Entry is free, but a free ticket has to be booked online in advance on Sky Garden's own website, as of Oct 2026. Slots often go quickly, so walk-up entry is not something to rely on. The Book box on this page shows any partner options and current prices.
The garden opens every day. On a Saturday it is usually open 11:00 AM–9:00 PM, as of Oct 2026. Later visits are possible on some days: On Saturday and Sunday, until 9:00 PM. Your booked slot sets when you go in, so check your ticket.
Many visitors allow about 1 h. Add a little for the security check in the lobby and the fast lift ride to the top. Once up, most of the time goes on walking the terraced planting and stepping onto the open-air terrace for the river views.
Yes, there is no charge for the garden and viewing gallery, as of Oct 2026. The free booking on the venue's own website is the only step needed before you arrive. On the day, entry goes through a security check in the tower lobby before the lift ride up.
Sky Garden sits at the top of the tower on Fenchurch Street in the City of London, a short walk from Leadenhall Market and the Tower of London. Underground and rail stops are close, and the map on this page shows the nearest station.
Terraced beds of ferns, fig trees and Mediterranean plants climb towards the glass roof, and an open-air terrace looks south over the river. From the top you can pick out the Shard, Tower Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral, with the Thames bending away to the east.
