As of Oct 2026
Arrive soon after the stalls open, when the air is cooler and the lanes less packed; afternoons are usually hot and crowded.
Pick your numbered sections before you arrive; the clock tower in the middle is an easy meeting point if your group splits.
The market is laid out in numbered sections around a central clock tower. Use the tower as a meeting point and pick up a map near the entrance. Clothing and accessories fill much of the space, while the outer sections hold plants and garden goods, antiques, art and furniture. Leave room for food: coconut ice cream, grilled skewers, mango sticky rice and fresh fruit are sold throughout the lanes.
The market is in Chatuchak, next to Chatuchak Park; metro and elevated railway stops near its edge beat weekend taxis.
The whole market usually trades 9:00 AM–6:00 PM on Saturday and 9:00 AM–6:00 PM on Sunday. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the full market stays shut, as of Oct 2026. Only some stalls trade during the week, so plan your visit for a weekend day and arrive early.
No. Walking into the market is free, as of Oct 2026, so there is nothing to reserve and you only pay for what you buy. If you would like a guide for shopping or street food in the lanes, the Book box on this page shows partner tours.
The market is in northern Bangkok, beside Chatuchak Park. Metro and elevated railway lines stop close by, which is often quicker than a taxi in weekend traffic, and buses serve the area. The map on this page shows the nearest station and the market's edge.
In our plans: Day 2, “Chatuchak Weekend Market & CentralWorld”. The full market trades only at weekends, as of Oct 2026, so plan it for a weekend. Its lanes of stalls cover a large area, and the map on this page shows the market and the stations nearby.
